ten functional blenders containing live goldfish, the exhibition invited guests to turn on the blenders if they wished

That’s not fucking art. That’s animal cruelty. ‘Invited guest to turn of the blenders if they wished’
So if you wish, you can kill an innocent fucking animals and call it art?

What the fuck is wrong with humans.

Fucking disgusting.

I’d do this. But I’d make it so that the buttons didn’t operate the blender, they’d set of sirens and flashing lights and streamers and balloons would fall from the ceiling and a big sign would pop out saying “WHAT A CUNT!”

I think some of you are missing the point. The idea with this kind of art is to point out one of the key aspects of our human nature. We as a race have the ability to see beauty in peculiar things. There’s a certain wonder to knowing that through the push of one button you could end the life of such a dainty creature. That’s experimental art though, through using unconventional means to explore the depths of our souls and imaginations we discover something new about ourselves as humans. I can guarantee that not many people would have actually turned on the blenders. The key aspect of this is the target audience being aware of the fact that they could turn them on if they wished. Maybe if some of you actually stopped to think about the implications of this kind of art rather than just simply going
OMG DEY GON KILL DA FISHIES OMG DAS DISGUSTING you would see that it’s actually kind of incredible and beautiful

Bullshit. There’s nothing intellectually valuable about this. “Look guise, humins is crule!” Wow, A+. You really told us something we didn’t know already. You have contributed something of value to the understanding of human nature.

Fuck modern “art.”

Even if it did have some sort of profound and intelligent meaning, or it was the most amazing art piece in the world, that is no fucking excuse to exploit and abuse animals. It’s simple. Get your message across in a different way.

i think the only way this becomes redeemable is if the blenders didn’t actually work. otherwise it’s atrocious. blending goldfish for the sake of art? it’s not like wearing fur or leather, or eating meat, in which you are actually using the animal. this is pure cruelty, cruelty for the sake of shock and “art.”

lol how people are full on shitting themselves because the life of a goldfish is at stake in this art project or whatever it is, pretty sure many animals are slaughtered on a daily basis and just because you’re not the one pushing the button doesn’t mean purchasing animal products stands without your actions implementing on the killing of lives. fuck sake people need to get their heads out their ass. i think its a cool social experiment but i do agree the button shouldn’t actually work because that would be highly blatant and unethical

btw im not like an animal cruelty extremest i eat meat myself
